Good Italian cooking rewards patience: a slow-cooked ragu, pasta rolled by hand, and vegetables picked when they're ready rather than when the calendar says so. At Emilia, the kitchen follows the season and the local harvest, not the other way round.

Seasonal. Local. Made by hand.
Our menu changes with whatever the moor and the coast are offering that week: spring greens, summer tomatoes, autumn game, winter roots. Everything is treated simply so the ingredients can do the talking, and the pasta is rolled fresh, by hand, every single day.
Primi
Pasta rolled and cut by hand each morning. A rich ragu, brown butter and sage, or something simpler with good tomatoes.
Secondi
Devon meat and day boat fish, cooked over flame or slow in the oven, kept honest and uncomplicated.
Dolce
A short, considered dessert list and coffee to finish. Nothing you need, everything you'll want.
The menu changes weekly with the seasons. Vegetarian and gluten free diners are always well looked after, just let us know when you book.
Simple food, done properly, is the hardest thing to get right. It's also the most worth eating.

Tucked into Bovey Tracey on the edge of Dartmoor, Emilia is a small room built for long, unhurried meals: low light, close tables, and a kitchen you can hear as much as see.
We keep things simple by design: a short seasonal menu, a well chosen wine list, and service that pays attention without ever hovering.
